Story Project 2

In this assignment, me and my partner had to make a one minute short with inanimate objects or animals.

Our story is called Bear Down. We made our story about a bear that is hungry and wants to get a piece of fruit on top of a tree.

We had an initial issue with the animatic. The issue was that there were we had too many scenes and the first draft of the animatic was over 2 minutes long. But after some revision we were able to trim down the time.

The only real issue we had with the slideshow in this assignment was that we didn't communicate well so I called the jack-fruit a pineapple instead.

The biggest problem I encountered was syncing the audio with the video. It was difficult for me to do this in the beginning because I was using Windows Movie Maker. Windows Movie Maker doesn't have many options when it comes to audio controls so I was very limited to what I could do. Once I found a free video editing software called VSDC Video Editor it made syncing the audio and video for the animatic a lot easier.

Story Project 1

In this assignment I was tasked to create a character and a story for that character. My story is about a cookie that is searching for milk.

The animatic went through multiple changes because I had to play around with the timing of the slides and also I had to reorganized some of the slides. I reorganized them so that the story would make more sense and feel more fluid.

The storyboard also went through changes as I changed the animatic. I made changes to this because so that it would match my animatic.

The beatboard was also changed to match the animatic. I put shots from the story that I felt like were the important scenes in the story.

The cookie changed from his original design. I removed the mouth because I had issues drawing the mouth and found that I could still convey some emotion by using his eyes. I also tried to make the character models have more detail in their actions.

The script went through changes as I had to change my animatic. My original script felt too short and did not show enough of the cookies struggle. So as I fixed this in my animatic, I also changed my script during the process.

My story went though changes throughout the whole process. I had to change the loglines to fit my new story. I also had to change to beat sheet to match my beatboard and character description. The examples for the character design remained unchanged but I decided to draw the cookie differently then I had originally did.
